Artist Promotion Strategy

When you already have a brand and an understanding of who you are, it's time to learn how to build a PR strategy and implement it. In this module, you will learn to consciously use social media tools, influencer and media collaboration to build knowledge about your own brand.

Imagine you have an upcoming EP/LP. Make a timeline and plan of targets and ideas for it:

Here is just an example of a small plan which you can use as the basis for your homework presentation (you can choose any other convenient format). But don't hesitate to be creative and distinctive!

1 slide: describe and present your project, concept of your album, links to your profiles, musical style that your are working in.

Describe the concept of your promo campaign:

2 slide - set the goals for campaign (amount of listeners/subscribers/ tickets sold etc.)

3 slide: - set the area of your campaign (local city/ local market/ certain music subcultures/ communities etc.)

4 slide: - set the resources (budget, team members, pr agents) and main promotion tools that fits to your project genre, style of music etc. (social media, press, playlists, interviews, media posts etc.)

5 slide: - set the key idea, and creative concept of the campaing (you can try to use creative ideas of similar artists)

6 slide: - set the general timeline for your campaign (dates and order of publishing of content for each channel type)

7,8,9,10 slides: - make a research and put a list of links to existing media-channels for each type of promo tool. Mention the type of the content that you will use for particular channel (list of magazines, list of instagram accounts, list of spotify playlists etc.)

On our Thursday session Pete Downes will review some of your works and discuss it with you. So, let's try to finish homework till 15:00 on Wednesday (09.06) This is the time when we will gather your works and send to the lecturer for the review. The general deadline is traditionally the end of this week.
